Walking the streets of Hanoi
After leaving Vancouver at 9:55 am, we arrived in Hanoi at 9:30 pm. Loooong day. When we arrived, we purchased SIM cards and exchanged cash for VND at the airport. We had read that the deals at the airport were acceptable.

Couple of things I noticed right away; our arrival was relatively hassle free. We’re used to being harassed by people but it was really no hassle at the airport or when we were walking around later on. The second thing we noticed was that the temperature was bearable. Maybe because it was night time. I expect it to soar during the day. But for our arrival it was great.

After arriving at our hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, despite being exhausted we decided to take a walk.  We scoped  out a cafe in the Lonely Planet and walked, and walked and walked. When we finally arrived it was closing. So we started heading back to the hotel and came across this really cool cafe where we stopped for a beer (Hanoi beer cost 80 cents US each.). Ca phe Sinh. It was 2 levels with a cool street view from the second floor albeit treacherous stairs to get there (to be expected). The decor included artillery and even a resident chicken!
