So long Vietnam

Our last day in Vietnam was relaxed and unscheduled. We relished in the clean luxury of the Buffalo Hostel. Much needed after 11 days of basic accommodation. To have a shower with a separate door and a dry toilet seat was amazing. We also walked around Hanoi soaking in the sights and sounds.
The night before we met a British guy who set up a pizza shop in the Old Quarter. NYC Pizza. When he met his Vietnamese wife in Hanoi and decided to set up a pizza shop they knew nothing about making pizza. But they knew that Hanoi lacked good pizza. They went to New York to learn how to make good New York style pizza. They experimented for 2 years prior to opening. Sourcing a mix of local and imported ingredients. Highly recommended if you’re looking for non Vietnamese food or something the kids will eat.
I will miss Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk, egg coffee (yes made with real frothy egg) and our daily dose of pancakes. We’ve eaten so many pancakes (crepe style) on this trip. Also, the water buffalos which seem to be almost as common as cows in India.
We definitely did not give ourselves enough time in Hanoi. But time to move on to a more relaxed pace in Laos.
